Coordination fire safety will help Green Deal’s objectives

The European Fire Safety Alliance, together with 17 other organizations that focus on improving the (fire) safety of European citizens, has sent a letter to Mr Frans Timmermans, Vice President of the European Commission. This letter calls for the establishment of a structural coordination of all initiatives of the European Commission with regard to the fire safety of European buildings.
Although fire safety of buildings is a national competence, it is impacted by and impacts many EU policies and initiatives of the EU Green Deal. A better coordination will ensure that fire safety is properly addressed and complements the energy transition.
