FEU report ‘Fire safety of upholstered furniture in domestic area’ nominated for Fireforum Awards

Approxiamtely 5,000 people die each year as a result of a house fire in the European Union nowadays. Several American and British studies indicate that the number of deaths can be reduced by at least 25 percent by the use of fire safe furniture. The Federation of the European Union Fire Officer Associations (FEU) states that these figures support the need of fire safe furniture. Based on their research the FEU is convinced that the number of deaths, injuries and damage will be reduced, when upholstered furniture and mattresses in Europe meet the test methods in the report ‘Fire safety of upholstered furniture in domestic area’.

The FEU report ‘Fire safety of upholstered furniture in domestic area’ is nominated for the Belgian Fireforum Awards in the category ‘Science & Research’.
